Where can I dispose of my Christmas tree?

The big day has now passed and many will be wondering ‘what now?’

For those with artificial trees the packing up process is quite easy, but disposing of real trees isn’t quite as simple.

If you have a real Christmas tree, the most environmentally conscious way to dispose of it after Christmas is to compost it. If you cannot compost your Christmas tree yourself, you can bring it to:

In Wraysbury real trees can be taken to the village hall carpark from Friday 6 to Sunday 15 January 2023.

Please ensure to remove all Christmas tree decorations beforehand.

Thames Hospice have a scheme, for a donation (£10 suggested) they will collect your tree on 5th Jan, registration required see https://www.thameshospice.org.uk/

If you have a garden waste subscription, you can cut up your real Christmas tree and put it in your green bin for collection on your normal collection day. Christmas trees left next to the bin will not be collected. There are no collections of green bins week commencing Monday 26 December 2022 or Monday 2 January 2023.

Or if you miss the above deadlines you can take it to Chalvey Household Waste Recycling Centre.
